If you grew up in the 80’s and the era of the mixed tape then you may not want to watch this.
A dad filmed his three kids trying to figure out how a cassette tape works with disturbing results.
James Crane, from Essex, was visiting his folks when he stumbled across a collection of his old tapes.with his children 12-year-old Archie, 10-year-old Oscar and nine-year-old Grace.
The 39-year-old was with his children 12-year-old Archie, 10-year-old Oscar and nine-year-old Grace.
For a bit of fun he handed the tapes to the bemused kids and asked them if they could figure out how they worked.
Archie held a tape to his ear and said: ‘I’m just getting rattles. How do you turn it on?’.
His other son Oscar thought the holes in the tape might be for old-school headphone jacks.
Grace not unreasonably suggested they might need a TV to get the tapes working – but Oscar dismissed her suggestion because, ‘they didn’t have TVs back in those days’.
Clearly starting to lose hope Archie tells his dad he can just hear ‘rattles’.
He then wonders aloud if they might need batteries before conceding: ‘I don’t know how you listen to music on this thing.’
