Remember growing up and discovering crisp sandwiches? And putting melted chocolate in between two slices of bread and thinking you had found the perfect snack?
And then graduating to a world of more grown-up sandwiches, where sweets and bread don’t generally go together.
However, a newsagent in Wales is doing a roaring lunchtime trade with its weird and – possibly wonderful – sandwich combinations.
The fresh baguettes in Channing’s in Cardiff are filled with sweets, instead of ham or cheese.
For those who love bread slathered with Nutella, the Chocolate Orange and lettuce roll might be one for you. There’s no butter, but maybe the lettuce will keep the sandwich from being too dry?
If you’re a fan of liquorice, perhaps the Liquorice Allsorts roll (£1.99) would make a tasty lunch.

The shop’s owner Phil told Wales Online that his inspiration is ‘anything that sounds just totally wrong – that’s the type of sandwich we try to make.’
Phil’s previous concoctions have included Marmite, mustard and jelly beans rolls.
