I Wanted To Dive For Cover When My Little Girl Peed In The Supermarket Aisle

A red-faced mum has written a heartfelt thank you note to supermarket staff after they came to her rescue.

The mum who posts under the Facebook name Kirbarton Kirby described how a hassled trip to the shops in Lisburn, Co Down turned into a nightmare when her daughter didn’t make it to the loo in time.

But the mum then described how the thoughtful reaction of the two women who came to her aid saved her day.

Sometimes in life the littlest things can have the biggest impact.

Hello Marks and Spencer!!

I just thought I would pop by and share my experience on my recent visit to your Sprucefield store.

After a fairly draining day at work, I picked up my two toddlers from nursery and headed up to my local store to pick up something for dinner (after driving home to find my debit card that I’d forgotten to bring out that day so I could do the food shop on my lunch break, only to find out it wasn’t actually in my coat pocket at home, but was actually in my bag after all! That’s the kind of day I was having!).

Anyway, I get to the food aisle I wanted to be at and of course my 4 year old daughter announces she needs the toilet.

Cue panic and a rush to the toilets at the other side of the building!! Well, I’m sure you can tell where this is going…. we didn’t make it. Bless her.

Huge puddle in the middle of the floor.

Needless to say I wanted to dive into the closest clothing rail and hide but someone spotted the mess.

Likely due to my red face lighting the place up like Christmas!!!

Anyway, lovely fellow customer and mother alerted staff to the disaster and promptly two ladies came to my rescue with paper towels and wet floor signs.

The flood was clear! Hooray!! They both engaged with my daughter, and just really lightened the whole situation.

One of the ladies went out of her way to get me new pants for my daughter, and brought back a new packet for her, free of charge and let me take her to the changing rooms to tidy her up!! I know it may seem like a small thing to some, but honestly it really touched me and made me feel I mattered, not just as a customer, but as a person.

I was able to carry on with my shopping as normal, which means I got to walk round and say “stop that!

Leave your sister alone! Put that back!” and question why I thought it was a good idea to go shopping with two toddlers for the millionth time!!!

Thank you Marks and Spencer!! You are awesome!!
