I was wondering if you wouldn’t mind another reader question please?
Having big problems with my smallie in the car lately & afraid he’s going to give himself a head injury the way he is going!
Here goes: My 16 month old is not a happy bunny in his new car seat. It’s a rear facing Britax and there’s nothing sticking out or anything in it that should cause him discomfort. I think it’s more that he doesn’t enjoy being in the car/gets bored. I don’t want to get him a screen at his young age, but it can be very distracting if he kicks off while I am driving and on my own with him in the car.
He has also started to ‘buck’ back against the seat, I’m sure hurting his head in the process. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to keep him amused in the car (I’ve tried flash cards, giving him snacks etc. but all only work for a few mins)? And in particular, how can I stop him from throwing himself back against the seat?
He occasionally does this in his high chair also so I’m fairly sure it’s a sign he just wants to get out/is fed up of being in a seat but in the car I can’t do much.
Thanks in advance 😉
