Calling all book lovers, we’re starting The M Word Book Club and would love you to join us!

We know as busy mamas, it can be really hard to find the time to read these days, so that’s why we wanted to start up a book club of like minded mamas to encourage each other and have a bit of fun!

There’s absolutely no pressure to finish each book by a certain date, although we’ll try and give ourselves a month time frame to aim for.

Essentially we want you to join in, have fun, and raise a virtual glass of vino, as we all dive in and have a blast reading the best books on the shelves.

First up, we’ve come up with a shortlist of three amazing books, which we’d like you to vote on! Comment below with which book you’d like! The book with the most votes will be the very first book for our book club, yay!

M for Mammy – Eleanor O’Reilly – A novel of family, love and the language we find when the words aren’t there.

Normal People – Sally Rooney – 2018 Costa Novel Award winner and longlisted for the 2018 Man Booker Prize: The feverishly anticipated second novel from the young author of 2017’s most acclaimed debut Conversations with Friends.

Absolutely Smashing It – Kathryn Wallace – Unmissable, hilarious and kind, this is the first novel from Kathryn Wallace, who blogs as I Know, I Need to Stop Talking

Niamh O'Reilly
Niamh O'Reilly
A full time feature and copy writer, Niamh is a dog-mad, shoe-obsessed, movie-buff, with a curious penchant for politics. Up until her son arrived in December 2016, she’d never changed a nappy, made a bottle or even held a baby for more than 5 minutes without it unleashing what she refers to as ‘the death roar’. Completely unprepared for this momentous change in her life, she’s now trying to navigate the brand new world of motherhood with honesty, grace, love and humour.
